Timescales

Wicked Rims accepts no responsibility for unseen delays within the process as some wheels may take longer than standard within any given process.

Paint Finish

When applying a powder coated or painted finish and lacquer we will match as closely as possible to the customer’s request and the other wheels. An exact match may not always be possible. To obtain a set of wheels that match we strongly advise all four wheels are powder coated or painted and lacquered at the same time. Customers should be aware that certain high gloss finishes show blemishes more easily. Should a customer request ‘as new finish’ or ‘show wheels’, additional charges will apply and be calculated on an hourly basis plus materials.

Diamond Cutting

The Diamond Cutting process uses a CNC lathe that removes layers of metal with a precision cut to remove damage. The amount removed is determined by the damage, however we always remove the minimal amount possible. Diamond Cutting, by its very nature, can change the profile of the wheel/ spokes slightly so customers should be aware that a cut wheel will differ slightly to a new wheel – the more cuts that are made, the more noticeable the difference. Some wheels may not be suitable for Diamond Cutting, for example if they have had excessive cutting on previous repairs or if the design of the wheel does not allow it to be Diamond Cut. Wicked Rims may not be able to determine if a wheel can be cut until the wheel has been seen. If we do not think a cut is advisable, or if when cutting it becomes apparent that Diamond Cutting is not suitable, or if the cutting depth proves to be too low, we will advise the customer by phone or email immediately with a supporting photograph if necessary. We will advise the best course of action so that the customer can decide how they wish to proceed. Wicked Rims accepts no responsibility for any imperfections in the alloy after Diamond Cutting. It is important to highlight that there are varying degrees of quality in OEM makes of wheels and aftermarket non-OEM wheels which means that sometimes the quality of the cut finish can only be determined after the cut. Any imprinted wording on a wheel can be lost or reduced during the Diamond Cutting process.

Split Rims

Wicked Rims recommends that all split rims are replaced with new bolts and new valves. If the customer chooses not to replace the split rim bolts, Wicked Rims will not offer any warranty. During the process of refurbishment, there is a possibility that bolts may get damaged, this is sometimes unavoidable. If this happens, the customer will be advised and charged accordingly for any replacement bolts.

Locking Wheel Nuts, Plastic Nut Covers and Centre Caps

Wicked Rims will not be held responsible for any damage to locking wheel nut keys or bolts, wheel nut covers or centre caps. We request customers to check and ensure any locking wheel keys are supplied and where possible, locking wheel nuts/bolts should be removed by the customer. Some tyre fitters may ‘over tighten’ wheel bolts, if any damage occurs during removal or refitting of previously over-tightened nuts/bolts (including locking wheel nuts/bolts), Wicked Rims will endeavour to remove damaged items. Any additional parts or time will be charged to the customer accordingly.

Wicked Rims tighten all wheel nuts/bolts to the correct torques supplied by the vehicle manufacturer. Due to fresh paint and the bedding in process, Wicked Rims advises all customers to re-check all wheel bolts immediately and after approximately 40 miles. If a customer is unable to check, Wicked Rims will offer to carry out the re-check if the customer brings the vehicle to our location. Where a wheel is fitted to a vehicle with a spacer, Wicked Rims can’t accept any liability for the correct fitting of the wheel due to the uncertainty of the suitability of the supplied bolt lengths, their condition and the required torque settings.

The use of spacers is often against the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation and safety specifications. Fitting of wheels with spacers is entirely at the owner’s risk. Wicked Rims will not be held responsible if centre caps break on removal or refitting.

Wheel Repairs

Wicked Rims reserves the right to refuse to complete the refurbishment process if they discover at any point during the process that the wheel will not, in the opinion of Wicked Rims, be safe. Wheels which are classed as ‘very poor condition’ may incur an additional charge. The customer will be contacted before any additional work is undertaken.

Wicked Rims recommends the fitment of new valves when refitting the tyres. Rubber valves are supplied. Wicked Rims accepts no responsibility for leaks from old valves that have been refitted at the customer’s request.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)

Wicked Rims will not be held responsible for any damage caused during removal of tyre pressure sensors due to excessive corrosion or generally seized parts. If this happens, the customer will be notified. Wicked Rims will ensure all bolt-in valves are tightened to the correct torque setting. Some vehicles have a ‘self-calibration’ facility to code/recode removed or replaced tyre pressure sensors, whilst other vehicles need to be re-programmed through the vehicle dealership.

Wicked Rims will not be held responsible for coding/recoding of any tyre pressure sensors; customers must make their own arrangements for this. Wicked Rims are not responsible for resetting any vehicle computers/monitoring systems for tyre pressures (TPMS). Owners should refer to their vehicle manual for this function.

Tyres

Wicked Rims reserves the right not to re-fit damaged, dangerous or illegal tyres.

Wheel Straightening

During the wheel straightening process heat is used and it is likely to result in discolouration to the painted surface. Whilst this may not be visible on the inside of the wheel, we recommend a full refurbishment if the damage is on the outside face of the wheel. The process of straightening a wheel involves using force and although we apply our skill to the straightening process it is not possible to guarantee that the wheel will not crack. We can not take responsibility for this occurring as it is a risk with the wheel straightening process.

Collection Timescales

Vehicles or wheels will not be released until payment is made in full. Wicked Rims requires customers to collect their vehicles and wheels in a reasonable time duration and must either collect their wheels or make arrangements for their collection/delivery. Wicked Rims will endeavour to contact customers with respect to collecting their wheels; however, wheels not collected within 28 days of completion may be sold to recover all costs.

Transportation

Wicked Rims accepts no responsibility for the loss or any damage to wheels during transport by couriers on behalf of the customer. Customers should ensure that any courier they employ is adequately insured.

Unforeseen Issues

Wicked Rims endeavours to refurbish alloy wheels to the best of their ability but cannot be responsible for any unforeseen problems such as poor casting, hidden cracks, excessive corrosion, buckles, previous poor repairs or previous excessive diamond cutting. These complications may only become apparent once the existing wheel coating is removed. If issues like these become apparent, customers will be advised about what has been detected and what can be done to proceed with an estimated cost that would apply to the additional repairs required along with how long this is likely to take.  Where possible photographs of the damage found will be supplied. Minor issues that can be rectified with metal filler will be managed on site and may not incur any additional costs or extended refurbishment time, however damage such as buckles  may have to be rectified using a wheel straightener, which will incur additional cost. Customers will be advised by phone or email and a response will be required for Wicked Rims to proceed.

Disclaimer and Warranty

All customers’ vehicles must be fully covered by their own insurance whilst left with Wicked Rims under Road Traffic Act 1988 section 143. All vehicles must be supplied with the locking wheel nut keys for removing and fitting wheels where applicable. Wicked Rims accepts no responsibility for goods or articles left in the vehicle. Wicked Rims are not responsible for resetting any vehicle computers/monitoring systems for tyre pressures (TPMS). Owners should refer to their vehicle manual for this function. When Wicked Rims fits wheels to a customer’s vehicle, we will make sure that the wheel nuts/ bolts will be properly torqued using the appropriate equipment. Customers are however, responsible for rechecking wheel nuts/ bolts immediately and after an initial bedding in period of approx. 40 miles and at regular points thereafter as part of a standard maintenance routine. If a customer is unable to check, Wicked Rims will offer to carry out the re-check if the customer brings the vehicle to our location.

Wicked Rims always want the very best for their customers and carry out quality workmanship. In the unlikely event something has gone wrong, Wicked Rims will try their best to rectify the situation. Wicked Rims offers a one-year warranty on all single colour powder coat refurbishments relating to workmanship. Wicked Rims reserve the right to refuse to refurbish wheels under warranty where we feel the damaged is not caused by defective materials or workmanship e.g kerbed wheels or any form of impact to the wheels, scuffing or poorly re-fitted tyres by a 3rd party or as a result of cleaning products/abrasives. Wicked Rims can’t offer a warranty on diamond cut wheels, split rim wheels, or any wheels which have been welded or buckled wheels have been straightened.

We recommend handwashing refurbished wheels with soapy water. Do not use any acidic or alkaline based chemicals to wash your wheels as this will damage refurbished alloys. Please be sure that any jet/hand wash companies that you use only use soapy water to wash your wheels. Any damage as a result of cleaning products is excluded from the powder coated wheels one year warranty.
